Article By Matt Clarmont
Gladiator Challenge will return to southern California's Soboba Casino in San Jacinto for Vision Quest on February 21st. Currently set to headline the event are 3 title bouts and a notable undercard fight featuring former TUF contestant Andy Wang.

The main event of the evening will be a lightweight title defense with Saad Awad (7-3) looking to retain his belt while breaking a two fight losing streak. The first of those two losses came at the hands of Karen Darabedyan in a non-title affair at a GC event over a year ago. It was a hard fought and razor thin split-decision against a highly touted WEC signed prospect. The second loss was to Diego Garilo at a Bellator event last year. He'll take on relative newcomer Larry Wasson (2-1) who is coming off a victory within the promotion less than 2 months ago.

Before the lightweight belt goes up for grabs, Chino Nicholas (2-1) will seek revenge against highly regarded Ulysses Gomez (5-1) who choked him out in this past December at Tachi Palace Fights 2 Brawl in the Hall. They will clash to determine the GC flyweight king.

In a heavyweight championship contest, Ivan Pack (2-0) will try to stay unbeaten in his young career and will be pitted against Travis Brown.

On the undercard, Andy Wang (7-7-1) will be looking to also remain unbeaten since his departure from the UFC after a tough loss to Cole Miller at the Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale in 2007. He sat out all of 2008 and returned to action in 2009, sporting a 2-0-1 record for the year. The lone draw came in the China's Art of War 14 last September.

The Tedd Williams-founded and operated Gladiator Challenge has been making the rounds on the West Coast for over ten years and has featured some of modern MMA's biggest stars before they were staples of the big time. Their most recent southern California show was held at the Soboba Casino back in November of 2009 and featured a main event in which Fernando Gonzales knocked out Nick Zarate in just 47 seconds.
